Have you wondered if healing properties of crystals really work? Done a little bit of your own research? I don’t blame you, sounds fascinating. Those that know me and are regular clients of mine know that I’m always engaged in the latest and greatest developments in skin care, products and industry trends. I run it through the DPS (DePiano Skin) tried and test routines so I am knowledgeable and you are getting the best possible information. So when I started seeing more and more information circling my news feeds recently, and after reading articles from my friends at Allure, I had to delve in a little deeper to find out more. Here is what I’ve learned and how you can incorporate crystals into skincare – it’s fascinating.

Necklace Heart Silver2

I have always loved crystals (and well, anything that sparkles) and had many beautiful stones as part of my collections. I can’t tell you how many compliments I get when I wear my Borealis Crystal pendant. People are just drawn to touch or hold it and there is always a smile. I can only surmise that is the energy of the crystal and how it is helping project good vibes!

I was fortunate enough to have been given several customized, energized crystals by a very dear, dear person in my life. The crystals he left me bring healing to the mind, body and soul.

This really isn’t a new thing; crystals go WAY back to the bedrock times. The Chinese have been, and still do practice with crystals on a daily basis. They say the oldest amulets are of Baltic amber, some from as long ago as 30,000 years. They even unearthed Baltic beads from Britain 10,000 years ago, at the end of the ice age. Fred Flintstone probably got Wilma’s lovely beads around that same time (lol)!

Find Your Crystal Match and How it Can Help Your Skin

How do you choose a crystal that is right for you and what you need from it? You could consult with a healer or another option is to follow your instincts. Find a crystal that you naturally feel drawn to. You could be thinking you’re choosing a stone that is more atheistically pleasing but you are also being drawn for the metaphysical properties that you just don’t know about yet.

Rose Quartz

I found this to be the number one choice when it came to choosing a stone. Perhaps for the commonly known properties of being the stone of love and boosting self-esteem and self-worth, but it is also improves circulation and can calm reduce redness in every complexion.

Amethyst

Known for its ability to calm nerves and relieve stress, Amethyst is the stone for the individual in high powered positions or just juggling too much of life. It will ease anxiousness and help return you to a Zen like feeling. Soak in a bath of it or meditate holding the stone gently in your palm. Stress can cause imbalances in your skins chemical properties – reducing stress will reduce acne and other abnormalities in the skin.

Tourmaline

This is your go to stone if you are dealing with hardship or loss, and in need of a balanced well-being. It can improve circulation from water retention – the culprit for assisting in signs of aging, Tourmaline can support anti-aging. Target areas for this stone are your neck and laughter lines.

Cintine

Packed with optimistic and creative energy, Cintine will brighten any day and has been used to assist with seasonal depression. It would only seem fitting that using this crystal in a facial could wipe away dead skin cells and brighten your complexion.

Malachite

The beautiful color of this stone is so pretty you could be drawn to it on that value alone but it is loaded with the property of being a deep energy cleaner and helping create positive change. When used on the skin Malachite will help minimize crow’s feet.

Sapphire

I think this stone might be the ultimate in being the leader in anti-aging properties. It is a healing stone and helps instill logic and clarity when dealing with challenging situations. For the skin, this can be amazing to maintaining a smooth complexion.

Ruby

Oh Ruby! This is the power stone; it recharges energy and helps you feel powerful. If you skin is feeling or looking fatigued this is your stone. Used in a facial this will help eliminate dead skin cells.

So, do you think you could believe in the healing and benefits of crystals to use on your body and skin? Perhaps you’re skeptical of another fad. Valid enough reason but, this form of treatment won’t break your bank if you were feeling adventurous and wanting to try it out. I started by hanging some crystals around the entrance to my salon and in my facial room recently. They collect the rays of the sun beautifully bring in a calming and surreal energy that even when not lighting up my room with their beauty, people have commented on having a sense of stillness and calm while undergoing treatments – more so than before. Come ‘feel’ for yourself.
